Furvaria (stylized as FURVARIA) is a furry convention held in Bavaria, Germany, and organized by Münchner Furs e. V..^[1]^[2]

FURVARIA ONE: Moonbase (2025)

The first edition was held in Marxheim from 14 to 16 November 2025.^[3] A total of 177 attendees were checked-in.

Theming

The title FURVARIA ONE is a double reference to the Bavarian space program Bavaria One with its similar name and matching the Moonbase convention theme. The theme was prominently highlighted through the convention website design, artwork, and onsite decorations. Space mission references were also used in pre-convention puzzles hidden in announcements and in the opening ceremony theater.

Programming

Programming at the first Fuvaria has included a Dealers' Den, a Fursuit Lounge with custom built drying racks and a Fursuit repair station donated by staff members and artists, Fursuit Games, panels held by attendees, charity activities, and karaoke. The convention started with an opening ceremony that included a small Fursuit theater play in the afternoon of the first day. Other stage programming featured nightly Furdances, and a charity auction on the last day.^[4]^[5]

Charity

For its first edition in 2025, Furvaria supported the Stiftung Ambulantes Kinderhospiz München (AKM / Kinderhospiz München).^[6] Fundraising during the convention included a charity tombola and a charity auction. Among donated items, artwork created during the convention ("Doodles for Charity") was also auctioned off.^[7]^[8] According to the convention's Telegram channel, the 2025 event raised €2,770.00.^[9]

FURVARIA 2.0: Retro Games (2026)

The second edition, FURVARIA 2.0, is scheduled for 11 to 14 June 2026 and was announced with a short teaser animation during the closing ceremony.^[10]

Organization

Furvaria is organized by Münchner Furs e. V., a not-for-profit furry association based in Munich^[11]^[12], although volunteers are not necessarily holding a formal membership of the parent organization. Besides the convention, the organization hosts monthly Furmeets and other special occasions in the region.
