The Anthro fandom, full anthropomorphic fandom, is a subculture composed of individual Anthro fans and artists who enjoy the wholesome/SFW aspect of furry/funny animal characters and their art and stories.

Most anthros also have no interest in being identified with the furry fandom because of the (mainly) perceived sexualization of these characters and creatures, furries' social or lifestyle interests, and/or the perceived "baggage" that said fandom carries (controversies, mainstream perception, etc).

Some furries do identify as anthro just for the name itself, not the label.

Philosophy and beliefs[edit]

Many anthro fans and artists consider themselves conservative in nature (political or religion-wise), without being extremist (with a few exceptions).[citation needed]
