Conventions[edit]
- The COVID-19 pandemic caused the cancellation or postponement of a multitude of furry conventions including Furnal Equinox, Thaitails and Gateway Furmeet.[1] The pandemic also is attributed to the rise of online furry conventions like Cozy Con and Down Home FurCon. Also as a result of the pandemic, the 2019 Ursa Major Awards were announced via an online presentation for the first time in its history.[2]

- Effective February 1st, Dragoneer regained ownership of Fur Affinity from IMVU.[3]
- Fenris Publishing acquired Rabbit Valley in October.[4]

- The Ursa Major Awards announced a new Furry Music category to debut in the 2022 Ursa Major Awards.[10]

- Swatting incidents at VancouFur 2023 and Motor City Furry Con 2023 were reported to have taken place.[11][12]
- Megaplex restricted their convention to 18+ in response to recently enacted Florida state law SB 1438.[13]

- Just before 2023's end, websites E621 and Pornhub blocked access from furries in North Carolina over new state law; The Pornography Age Verification Enforcement Act.[14]

- During the nomination phase of the 2023 Ursa Major Awards, the category for Best Anthropomorphic Music was removed due to "infighting" and a "refusal to allow impartial and unbiased management of the nominations and voting"[15]
- Citing a lack of judges the Leo Awards announced their retirement.[16]

- After a hiatus of ten years, furry comic anthology, Furrlough publishes issue #194 under its original publisher, Antarctic Press.[17]

- Australian convention Fur Out West suddenly announced its closing.[18]
- Furlandia removes Mary E. Lowd as guest of honour for embracing AI art.[19]
- For the second time in two years, a threat was lobbied against Motor City Furry Con.[20]
- Anthrocon 2024 becomes the first convention to break the 17,000 attendees barrier.[21]
- Carolina Furfare was cancelled due to the devastion caused by Hurricane Helene. [22]

- Fur Affinity, Fur Affinity's and Dragoneer's Twitter pages were hijacked two weeks after the latter's death.[24]
