Further Confusion 2026 was the twenty-sixth annual Further Confusion furry convention, which was held on January 15-19, 2026, at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, California, USA.
The convention's theme was The Beach Episode.[1]
Attendance was of 6,621[2]. It raised $45,279 for the The Street Dog Coalition charity partner.
Programming
Party floor cancellation
In September of 2025, it was announced that Further Confusion would no longer be hosting a party floor, a staple of the convention that had been a part of its programming since 2004[3]. A statement was posted to Bluesky, citing a change in policy by the Marriott hotel connected to the convention center.
Further details about the policy changes have not been released. The prior year's party floor had experienced a couple incidents that were circulated heavily on social media, such as a group of inebriated teenage hotel guests stealing a convention badge from a fursuiter to gain access to the space & starting a physical fight with patrons & staff when asked to leave.[4]
Alternative programming was made available in 2026, such as the Fursday Night at The Tech event, a partnership with the nearby Tech Interactive[5]. Movie screenings were also added to the schedule during Night Market hours on Saturday.[6]
Fursuit parade
The fursuit parade has returned as a regular part of Further Confusion's programming, following the event's cancellation in 2025 citing threats against the convention. The event saw upwards of 1,500 participants.
