Anthrocon 2025
Anthrocon 2025 was the 19th annual AC furry convention. It was held July 4–6, 2025, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
The convention's theme was Deep Sea Adventures, with the guests of honor being (???).
Anthrocon 2025 saw an attendance of 18.353, reclaiming once again its status as the world's largest (worldwide) furcon; that is, if there is no larger Midwest FurFest's tally in December 2025. The charity partner was "Nose 2 Tail Cat Rescue, for whom they raised $87,000.
Controversy
Crusader Cat, a fursuiter, writer, musician, actor, political extremist altfurry, and a brief a member of the social-political group the Furry Raiders, was spotted participating in AC's 2025 fursuit parade, causing consternation for most (congoers or not),[1][2] and titillation for some.[citation needed]
The main sticking point with people was Crusader's own political/fetish baggage, and knowing so, why did the staff let such an individual into not only one of furry fandom's mainstay/flag events,[citation needed] but also mingle in the heavily covered parade,[citation needed] especially when poodler's (poodling fursuiters) were not permitted to attend the same.[3]
AC response
The event responded to the controversy by posting an image online (that did not name said Crusader Cat) that put the onus on him:
| After careful review with our team members, we believe that this individual specifically and intentionally circumvented our Event and Safety measures (including costume review) with the intention of causing a scene and disruption. |
More so (again, without names), they indicated that such "individual" was no longer allowed at future events.
The announcement did not persuade many[4] but it was not entirely dismissed.[citation needed]
