The Fur Valleys (often known as "The Valleys") is a group of island simulations (also known as "regions" or inaccurately as "sims") within Second Life. The Valleys are located in the southwestern area of the island cloud.
History
The first region in this chain, Fox Valley, was created as a private island in November 2005 by RedFox Costello in order to form a furry area apart from Dreamland, due to a difference of opinions between RedFox and Anshe Chung. In 2006, Kithylin Perth ordered 2 sims(Wolf Valley & Tiger Valley) which were attached to Fox Valley, creating the heart of the Valley continent. Wolf Valley was sold to Mako Minogue in June of 2006(It continues to be primarily a residential region featuring a beach hangout, an art gallery and Bunny Brewster's "Bunnythedral", which is one of the oldest builds in the entire continent), Tiger Valley was sold to Foxkin Impfondo, and Fox Valley remained with Redfox
At the hieght of it's creation, the Fur Valleys contained 44 regions furs could explore and enjoy. In 2009, Jack Linden increased region prices, eliminated the Non-Profit break, and had all void sims converted over to either homesteads or open spaces. This lead to a checkerboard pattern to emerge as the change forced several regions to go offline, and in some cases created islands stranded out in the middle of nowhere. Region prices have since been reduced.
The Regions
- Main articles: List of island simulations in Fur Valleys and Dragon Valley Estate
Fae Valley
Came online in 2006 by Alynna Vixen, joined with Meeting Island in May, and has since become it's own sim away from the valleys.
Fox Valley
Came online in 2005 by Redfox Costello, became the first of the Fur Valleys. Redfox still owns it.
Wolf Valley
Came online 6/2006 by Kithylin Perth, later sold to Mako Minogue, who's the current owner.
Kitsune Valley
Came online in 2006 by Alynna Vixen, moved out 5/2006 to join Furnation becoming Furnation Kitsune. In 8/2007, Furnation Kitsune came back to the valleys as Kitsune Valley and was sold to Snowmeow Soothsayer. Went offline 5/7/2011.
Istaria Prime
Came online 2/2006 by Crawler Woyseck and was originally part of Furnation, but came to the valleys due to a LL billing error. It has since been renamed Crawler Prime and is still owned by Crawler Woyseck.
Serenity Woods
Moved in 6/2006, Serenity Woods was owned by Foxkin Impfondo, then sold to Ron Overdrive, then sold again to Mako Minogue, before being sold a final time to Curt Pascal who's the current owner.
Critter Valley
Moved in 2006 and owned by Kodi Sachs, the sim was later sold to Snowmeow Soothsayer. Went offline 5/8/2011.
Zeta Valley
Moved in 6/2006, Zeta Valley was connected via Dragons Void but due to a disagreement between residents and admins, Dragons Void moved south, leaving Zeta Valley an island. Equus Beach moved in 5/2008 to reconnect it. The sim is currently owned by Wolphin Fluffball.
Cub Conclave
The exact creation/move in date is unknown, but Cub Conclave catered to the babyfur community. The region was owned by Raven Welesa and went offline 10/12/2012.

The departure of Lovecraft Forest left Pony Island disconnected from the rest of the Valleys. Crissa Javelin and Mako Minogue partnered to purchase a new sim. They split the sim 50/50 and have rented out each half to other furs. The sim is no longer part of the valleys.
