I've noticed that when I use this template, it gets edited out by a Curator. Does this mean that it is not to be used? --Betsumei (talk) 16:49, 2 June 2025 (EDT)

We switched over to the easier-to-edit Wikifur version almost 11 years ago. Now practically all articles use that syntax, except for ancient ones or those we haven't edited to 2025 standards. We may use Wikipedia edit tools, but we switch over, or don't use them, if they are a little complicated.
I.e., Wikipedia's disambiguation pages list all articles with a specific name (let's say Fox). We soon found out that doing it the Wikipedia way would make the article an unwieldy monster, almost impossible to manage.
That is why we use the Wikifur's reference syntax; it is easier to create, even for the most novice editor. Nothing personal (was wondering why you were using that particular version). - Spirou (talk) 19:57, 2 June 2025 (EDT)
