R'ykandar Korra'ti is an artist and the maintainer of the Art Materials FAQ, regularly posted on Usenet. unci found her name funny enough to compose a song about it. Dar was also the publisher of the SF zine Low Orbit and the Albedo zine Refractions.
Many software programmers frequented WDMA, so it was natural that their work was not to be distributed on WDMA. This rule was slightly amended near the end of the site's life, when a forum for ROMs and abandonware was created, however games for systems newer than the Dreamcast or Nintendo 64 were not allowed (the Sony Playstation is older than both, but it was not allowed either).
