Wild Nights 2009 was the first instance of Wild Nights, a predominantly outdoor furry convention. It was held April 23 to April 27, 2009 in Robbers Cave State Park in east Oklahoma, U.S.A.

The Guest of Honor for 2009 was furry artist Baka Sukonku. There were eight acts in the variety show, and the event ran a surplus of $800 to put towards the next year.

Location[edit]

Wild Nights was oringally intended to be held at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in Central Missouri of the same dates. When the staff applied to use the park for the dates however, their application was denied by the Missouri Department of State Parks. Their reasoning was of concerns about "sexually explicit material" that might be accessed to minors during that period despite Wild Nights clause to ensure that any adult material wont be seen by anyone under 18.

After discussing several options, it was ultimately decided to move the event to Robbers Cave State Park in Oklahoma where it was still held on April 23-27. There were concerns that some might view it as an attempt to compete with nearby Oklacon; but the park located added a lot of pros and could be used on those dates.
