I would like to request being added to the Administrators group. I have been watching some real-time vandalism of the Wiki and while I've reverted the changes, I've been unable to stop future abuses occuring from the same IP.

Sure. Enjoy. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 16:26, 16 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Welcome to the club! *hugs* =^.^= --Wesha.
Sweet. Thanks guys. :-) -- Dmuth(talk)

Meanwhile, could you create a "Badger-Badger-Badger" page? =^.^= We definitely need one, I just have no idea where to stick it. Comics maybe? --Wesha.

No prob. :) Still cutting my teeth on this a bit.
Meanwhile I think we created Category:Animations for that kind of stuff. --Wesha.

Thanks for the hello and welcome and such. Yeah, I thought I'd add a bit and kinda close a few gaps here and there while I was at it. :) --Tybee

On Herbie's entry...[edit]

Thanks for the clarification. I went ahead and removed the SpeedyDelete template.

Is there any way we can lock the entry from there? Carl Fox 02:41, 22 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the help. I'll get this Wiki thing down yet.  :) Carl Fox

Lizard is not a troll[edit]

Lizard is not a troll. I'll vouch for him. --Dmuth 16:28, 22 Aug 2005 (UTC)

He wasn't logged in with an IP and did one wierd troll like edit to a user page. Have to admit that looked fishy. ;) It was only one edit anyway and I'm not an admin so. o.- Even if I was, I wouldn't block without warning. --Nidonocu - talk Nidonocu 17:31, 22 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, that's understandable. I should also point out that Lizard does not speak English has his primary language. That probably didn't help any. :-P --Dmuth 18:32, 22 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Facts are still facts. :) Article cleanup comes after. ;) --Nidonocu - talk Nidonocu 18:36, 22 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Thank you.[edit]

I've viewed the entry, and that's very satisfactory.

Thank you very much. Take care.

People Who don't want to be on the wiki[edit]

I'm just writing to say I aggree with your views on the problem with people complaining about not wanting to be listed. I'll be a good little minion and follow the site policy, however, I personally feel tat factual wiki's are about spreading the truth and knowledge to all. If you don't want people writing about you and calling you an idiot on here, then don't be one and they won't. o_o --Nidonocu - talk Nidonocu 16:15, 24 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Well, I think that calling someone an idiot would be a personal attack and not suitable for a Wiki anyway. As for factual stations regarding people who do idiotic things, that's a whole other situation that I really hadn't thought of. What do we do if there is a factual article about someone is really is being a jerk, and that person wants it removed. Do we remove it? Hmm. --Dmuth 16:36, 24 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Personally, I don't agree with the whole policy of reomving users at all. I guess I can say that cause I'm not an admin here.  :) As long as the article is factual, if you come across as a jerk and a moron, who's fault is it? Certantly not the wiki's. :) Rama 16:47, 24 Aug 2005 (UTC)
I've added a new section to my rant to address this issue. Comments are welcome. --Dmuth 16:57, 24 Aug 2005 (UTC)
On the other hand, do we really want to call attention to people who misbehave, when our time can be spent on more productive things? As long as the site as a whole doesn't become that, I don't see a problem with pointing out facts about people, or groups for that matter, as long as it's factual and neutral in tone. If an artist didn't do a commission and kept the money, is it wrong to have 'this artist has a history of taking money and not doing work' in their aritcle? As FOX News says 'fair and ballanced' Rama 17:17, 24 Aug 2005 (UTC)
OT, when is Fox News ever fair and balanced? ;) -Nidonocu - talk Nidonocu 17:25, 24 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the nudge in your LJ. It's about time I learn Wiki markup anyway... I really like the system. Plus I'm going to move http://www.tgeller.com/furry/ here. Makes sense, no?

(Heh... the Google ads next to this comment are all like, "Darth Vader Lightsaber: Quality new and used items!" and "Jedi Gear & Sabers". I think it's seeing "Dmuth" and extrapolating "Darth". :) ) --Tom Howling 18:55, 24 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Irregulars imagery[edit]

I was thinking Dorsai Irregulars could do with an image, and I looked on the page, and I found this badge on your website. I think that would be cool to have as a picture there. Although there might be other pictures that you know of that would be even cooler. If not, would you be willing/able to donate a copy of that picture to the wiki? --GreenReaper(talk) 00:40, 26 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Done! --Dmuth 14:26, 26 Aug 2005 (UTC)

One little mistake... I'm new to Wikis. -Tango

Thank you![edit]

Thank you for moving my page. I didn't know. I'm new! Thanks again.

Last resort.[edit]

Dmuth?: It is I, Jamie Malecki. Convinced I am in no position overrule anything, nor be able to leave even if I tried, I am hereby granting you and GreenReaper permission to re-instate the article on yours truly. I have tried one last attempt, to post some safety note, under the Rabbit Characters category. I do hope you approve, because if not, then GOD HELP ME.<:'(

Without a doubt, the Internet SHOULD NOT just be for adults only, it should be for everyone as possible, including minors. And bad influences, including explicit webmasters and their scum creations, really HURT the innocent, and it is not funny. :(

I do hope I got through to you. Thank you if you would please understand and co-operate. —The preceding semi-unsigned comment was added by 70.24.132.223 (talkcontribs) 20:44, 11 November 2005 and 20:45

The problem with your arguments is that they contain a flaw in themselves. The internet can't be for everyone if some parts of it are censored just to protect another group of user's. The fact is you really have to go looking for these, its not like spam e-mail which is sent directly to people's inboxes and contain unsuitable content. And finally, as for hurting people, you've clearly never been to main land Europe where a lot of adverts including billboards featuring topless women posing with products. They are far more blatant than any of the largely small images used on this wiki and I don't see France or Germany collapsing in to a pool of corruption as their children's innocence is broken. Actually, forget France, they are a rather poor example at the moment. o_- -Nidonocu - talk Nidonocu 06:23, 12 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Then again,...NO.[edit]

Dmuth & GreenReaper: I am still not happy. And the two of you are really not being reasonable to me. Despite attempting a bittersweet comeback, I have clearly decided now that it is not going to work. I figure if I just quit, and never again come back here, I can be free of this Wiki bullshit. Because everything is up to you, I do not care anymore about sharing any info here which I can no longer grant you, not to mention I cannot find the time and energy for everything, a privilege you have lost from me, otherwise leave it to someone else to brag about my ass. Afterwards, I have NO business coming back here, ever again, therefore (permitting I am not tempted) do not write nor speak to me again. Goodbye and good riddance. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.24.132.223 (talkcontribs) 14:29, 12 November 2005

Again, I'm sorry that you feel that way, but you are making demands about how WikiFur should be run that we simply don't agree with. Goodbye, and good luck with your future endeavours elsewhere. --GreenReaper(talk) 19:50, 12 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Anthrocon[edit]

I reverted your change to Anthrocon at Wikipedia because . . . well, see the previous edit summary. Good plan, though - we get a lot of good hits from Wikipedia. ;-) --GreenReaper(talk) 07:43, 26 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Also, did you really mean for the edit link on your Wikipedia talk page to end up here? --GreenReaper(talk) 07:45, 26 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Oops, I missed that part. That's what I get for editing stuff when I'm tired. :-) And yes, I meant for my talk page there to end up here, since this is the only Wiki that I check on a regular basis. --Dmuth 15:15, 26 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Don't revert my edits.[edit]

Ever.

Especially the ones I do to my own page.

Capeche? -- Skunklogo.gif(U)(T)(C)

Thank you for your concern, but I'd like to point out that personal attacks are not welcome on WikiFur. Any edits by any user which violate this policy will be reverted.
In the future, if someone vandalizes an article about you, feel free to revert their edits yourself. If they persist, please contact an administrator, who will be able to ban that IP. --Dmuth 01:20, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)
Why not? They personally attacked me. Fair is fair. --Skunklogo.gif(U)(T)(C) 04:03, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)
Wikifur is not a High School playground. If they do it, just don't lower yourself to their level "because of X reasons," period. "Reverts" and Admin help are available here for a reason. Spirou 04:10, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)
Why not? I happen to like that level. --Skunklogo.gif(U)(T)(C) 04:20, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)
Because, as previously stated, personal attacks are not allowed here. If someone else attacks you, the appropriate thing is to revert it. If it continues, let an admin know and we'll implement a more permanent solution. Responding with a personal attack has the net effect of still having an article on here which contains a personal attack, and that lowers the overall usefulness of WikiFur. As they say on Wikipedia, stay cool when the editing gets hot. --Dmuth 04:52, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)
More simply put: perhaps you like it, but we don't. Don't complain about getting reverted if that's what you're into, because we're not, and it's not a part of what we want WikiFur to be. If you want to call people names on your own LiveJournal or something, that's your call, but WikiFur's not the place for it. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 06:56, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Harassment via Tigerwolf wikifur entry.[edit]

Wow. Brilliant for you that you figured out who this is. *golfclap*

I'm quite amused to see that you people have sunk low enough to actually create a wikifur entry claiming that George F Nemeyer Jr is me, and then allowing the entry to talk about me without my express permission.

If the harassment continues and the entire entry is not blocked, I will be contacting the moderators and management of the entire Wikicities community, and informing them both via e-mail and form letter, along with a copy of my identification, that shows that I am in fact, the person named in the file, and that not only have I attempted on more than one occasion to remove it, but that you also continue to condone such harassment, as well as condoning Mr Nemeyer attempting to take my identity.

In the event that I do have to contact the management of the entire site, I will not only be requesting blockage of the page in particular, but will also be requesting dismemberment of the Wikifur community, due to harassment.

This post, along with your reverting it repeatedly, are in direct violation of your own set Policy and Guidelines. Failure to comply with this will result in the aforementioned actions being taken against you and this community.

Thank you for your time. I expect prompt compliance.
