Hello, I’m Halfshell or Sabaka. I’ve been involved in the fandom for over 20 years. I drew anthropromorphic art way back before high school. Before I was a “furry”, I started as a lurker browsing sites like InflatioNation looking up Digimon, Pokemon, and Lilo and Stitch. I officially joined the fandom in the 2003-2004 area.

Before ‘Furry’[edit]
I was drawing anthros of animals since grade school, drawing Bugs Bunny, Koopa Troopa, Bowser, and a few others and was a major TMNT fan. Some of my anthro arts won me a few artistic awards and ribbons in art classes all the way through high school. This was around the time I created my Sabaka character. [see character section] I was in the TMNT fandom before switching to the furry fandom, hinting the turtle fursona. I was on a forum called The Technodrome, a TMNT fan site ran but fictious versions of the villians. After I started drawing other animals outside the TMNT canon and bringing them to the forum, I was asked to leave because the anthro animals was a little too much and was getting to weird for their tastes. That’s when I found The InflatioNation, and submitted my own art there.
Welcome to the Furry World[edit]
After loading a few images to the InflatioNation galleries, I remember SirKain reaching me on my AOL chat suggesting to hop on the message boards of the InflationNation to introduce myself. This is where I met Blue, Oz Kangaroo, Alkora (Byakko Wolf during that time), Pryfar (later would become Dragoneer), Starfig, Nemo (aka TBP Benni) and some of the other older generation of inflation and macro artists.
First Furry Convention and Tragedies[edit]
In 2005, I was invited by Sir Kain to visit him to go to AnthroCon 2005 to experience my very first furry con. Had a blast at AnthroCon, meeting my friends from online face to face. After the convention, I experienced my Post Con Depression, this is the same time my best friend, my running buddy, Blazegar (Timmy), had his heart attack in the ambulence, and I was there with him when he was laying there, grabbed my arm and said, “I don’t wanna die” and his eyes rolled back and his heart flatlined. Than later would lose my friend Zwoulfe to a lung infection and asthma attack - I blame that moment is when I lost my mind and went completely nuts and started snapping at people. This went on for years. I would make friends and snap at them later loosing them because I felt I really didn’t have friends. Since than, I havent been able to keep a lot friends.
Music and Love[edit]
2004 While on the InflatioNation boards, me and Jaimetud recorded “Blue’s Christmas” a parody on Elvis Prelsey’s “Blue Christmas”. 2005 I met SonicBlu online after finding his parody music on furry topics. Also that same year I recorded “Leaving the Con” after my trip to AnthroCon 2005 based on my Post Con Depression. In 2006, I met Viktoria Foxfang a local fur and life long friend. I also recorded an albums worth of home recordings of newly rough material that was furry themed oraround it. 2006 is when I also had my first mate, SonicBlu.
Time Gone By and Time Lost[edit]
Mid 2008, I moved to Ohio to move with SonicBlu and SpykeTyranno, wasn’t the wisest decision I made. Started off great, while there I went to Univeristy of Phoenix for four years, got my certificates in Microsoft (ie MS Office, Word, Powerpoint, Acess, Spread Sheet, basically anything Microsoft). During my time in Ohio, my relationship with SonicBlu went down hill, and by the time I finished with college, I was no longer welcomed in the household due to my temper and anger issues, so I moved back home.
Move Back Home[edit]
2011 I ended up back home and while with my parents, the furry stuff had to lay dormint. I had a few high points here and there, a few conventions, friends came and went. 2011, Father’s Day, I lost my father due to lung problems and obesity. Up til now, I stayed in the Kansas City area.
Health Issues[edit]
Before my trip to AnthroCon 2005, I suffered a major asthma attack from a lung infection and was hosptialized for a week on a breathing machine. 2024, I suffered another asthma attack from a lung infections, luckily this time only stayed in the hospital for three days. In the last few years, my health has been declining as I’m reaching my middle 40’s. July 2024, starting coughing blood and feeling pins and needles on and off. I get little asthma attacks more often. I’m supposed to check in the doctors after being reffered by the ER from the August 2024 visit, but my insurance won’t cover it as it barely covered the ER visit only deducting 500 bucks from a 3000 doctor visit.
