They've got a warm and fuzzy feeling is a piece by Rebecca Caldwell, part of her Subcultures column. It appeared in the Canadian national newspaper The Globe and Mail on August 16, 2003. The piece opens with a description of Camp Feral!, and sumarizes the breadth of furry fandom:

Being a furry isn't just about putting on that rabbit costume. Into collecting stuffed animals? You're probably a furry. Like cartoons featuring creatures with giant blue eyes and a smile where the snout should be? You're a furry. Spend your evening in on-line chatrooms such as furryMUCK pretending to be a gazelle while you talk to someone pretending to be an ostrich? You're definitely a furry.

"They've got a warm and fuzzy feeling" also touches on earlier coverage by Vanity Fair and Sex2K.

The next month, Rebecca Caldwell closed her subcultures column with a piece titled "A fond farewell to furries and their ilk". Among her "last few notes" is the summary "Most likely to make your parents seek out God and ask Why?: Furries."[2]
