"The Tortoise and the Hare (2010)
The Tortoise and the Hare is a 2010 book written and illustrated by Marilyn Cole (Katmomma) with Daniel O'Rourke and Chelsea Post. The first Edition (discontinued) was published by Xlibris. The Second Edition currently in print is published by Lulu.

The story, consisting of 62 Pages, over 30 Illustrations color and chiaroscuro, is a revisioning of the ancient Greek fable of the same name (as told by Aesop), set in the fictional Dixieland town of River Rock. The main character, Jack Hare, is the consistent winner of a local race which he has won for the last fourteen years, while Terrace J. Tortoise has suffered just as many defeats. Terrace, however, manages to win this year's race by getting the local Fox witch to cast a curse on Jack. Jack is forced to rethink his role as a competitor and his relationship with his family and friends in order to assess how he will manage to break the curse and win back his reputation.
