The Laugh-Out-Loud Cats is a webcomic created by Ape-Lad (real name: Adam Koford, b. 1973, lives in St. Cloud, Florida). It primarily depicts depression-era anthropomorphic hobo cats saying many of the textual phrases which are embedded into image macros, primarily inspired by the LOLcat images which typically contain such macros.

True to form, the comic is displayed as being on pseudo-aged brown newspaper so as to reflect the period in which the comic takes place. Ape-Lad also attributes the authorship for the comic to his fictional cartoonist grandfather, Aloysius "Gorilla" Koford, who is said to have written and drawn a similarly-named comic strip from 1912-1913 but was forced from the business by publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst.
