Merge[edit]

This infobox is one of the known formats of comics (webcomics, newspaper comic strips, graphic novels, editorial/gag cartoons and comic books). Along with the known international comic terms (manga, bandes dessinée, manhwa, fumetti and tebeo), this could create 11+ types of infoboxes in Wikifur.

The common comic information cross-reference all over these formats, so it will not overstep/delete present information sections. But there is right now two infoboxes (webcomic and graphic novel), and they information/format therein already differs.

Recommend merge into a general Template:Comic infobox with a Format genre section (i.e. [Format: Comic book], [Format: Newspaper comic strips], etc) before we create multiple redundant templates all over the Wiki. - Spirou (talk) 17:28, 15 September 2014 (EDT)

Support: I think move to Template:Infobox_comic is a good idea. --EarthFurst (talk) 16:55, 15 October 2014 (EDT)
On second reading, think you are suggestion webcomic infobox be merged with this infobox. Would be hesitant to merge the two. My current preference is there be two infoboxes: Infobox_comic (for printed comics) infobox_webcomic. However do recognize webcomics can make it into print and visa versa. Hmm. --EarthFurst (talk) 16:53, 16 October 2014 (EDT)
Warming to the merge idea (since webcomics get printed, and print comics can become webcomics). Now think the webcomic-only portion of the infobox is the URL line. If merged: would prefer URL line be near top. --EarthFurst (talk) 23:11, 16 October 2014 (EDT)
Spiriou: Are you suggesting webcomic infobox be merged with this print comic infobox? --EarthFurst (talk) 03:30, 27 October 2014 (EDT)
Not into this particular template per se, but yes, a new universal/generic comic template where as all the above formats can be used with. I have started already on a test template to use as "proof-of-concept" for further discussion/maybe approval, but I have yet to work further with it (time+RL+work+etc), sry.
Not messing with the currently used/established infoboxes on the wiki, and I think editors should still use the existing ones. It will be no issue to transplant their data to the (potential) new infobox if we agree on such a general one eventually. - Spirou (talk) 16:36, 27 October 2014 (EDT)
