This template feels very... angry. If i got one i would be scared to do even the smallest changes. I don't think that scaring contributors away is the best way to fight vandalization. Farejobaldo 02:00, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Probably not. Care to improve it? --GreenReaper(talk) 02:57, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
I would, if it weren't protected :P... That's why i asked. Farejobaldo 18:04, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
D'oh! Looking at the edit history, it appears to have been protected pre-emptively. Not sure if that's a good thing or not.
But until we figure that out, feel free to put here any suggestions you have for a nicer wording. :-) --Douglas Muth 18:14, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Well, it isn's so much the words, as the layout. It's a big screaming red thing that takes up full width of the screen and bold letters.

Something like that, only a better text. And another image. Farejobaldo 18:56, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Poink really does look creepy with those eyes . . . --GreenReaper(talk) 18:57, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
He sure does. No comment on the text? Farejobaldo 18:59, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Corrected typos/grammatical errors, plus a few things to make it flow better. A "welcome" seems to go against the warning tone. I also suggest a stop-sign for an image, perhaps? Spaz Kitty 19:13, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Probably not a stop sign, he/she hasn't been blocked yet, just warned. Maybe something like this? Farejobaldo 19:24, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

A stop sign doesn't mean you've been ticketed. It means you need to observe the stop sign or else you will be ticketed. Thus, a stop sign doesn't mean they've been banned, it means they need to observe the rules or else be banned. I came up with this really quick:

Anyone's free to tinker with the concept. Spaz Kitty 19:30, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
I'm messing around in Inkscape to see what I can come up with. Simba B 19:41, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
This one is almost exactly the same but a bit bigger and smoother

Looks quite good actually. But how about a white border instead of a black one? Farejobaldo 22:02, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
How's this? I seem to have lost the original paw graphic and I'm having trouble tracking it down. So I did a quick bucket-fill with the GIMP. I'll keep looking so I can redo the original SVG if you think it still needs work. Simba B 23:05, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Well, i honestly don't know. But i'll move this to the main page now, we can always change the image later on. Farejobaldo 00:29, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
A warning sign says "Don't do this unless you know what you are doing". A stop sign says "Don't do this even if you know what you are doing". So both is equally appropriate. Like your image though. Farejobaldo 19:34, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Ferrets[edit]

What do you guys think about removing the 'ferrets' part of the template? It's been up for a year now, and I think it'd be more appropriate without it. Spaz Kitty 02:33, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
