Kage Ghost Warrior badge typo[edit]
Just to nitpick about the "Kage Ghost Warrior" typo (and provide a bit of history regarding that), it was actually discovered a week before on July 2nd, 2005 by myself. Bennie and myself were over at Uncle Kage's place preparing for the con. He brought a couple of conbadges along with him that we were looking over.
I was idly looking looking at one while Bennie and Kage were typo and thought I had misread the URL for a second. I paused and looked at it again. Then I looked at it for a third to make sure it really SAID what I thought it said. The ensuing converation went something like this:
"Uh, guys? I think we have a typo on the badge." "Huh?" "Here, look." "Oh crap! I proofread that badge like 6 times!"
We spent a couple of minutes figuring out what to do, then I suggested we just register kageghostwarrior.com and point it at the real site. A few minutes later and the deed was done.
I have no knowledge of it being reported to the Operations Office during the con, but since it was a non-issue with the typoed domain name in place, someone might have told me and I just forgot about it since it didn't affect us any.
So, that's the story of the typoed URL on the AC 2005 conbadge. Just thought I'd document that since it was brought up here. --Dmuth 04:44, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
Is that so? Sorry -- I was unaware of that (as were the people at con-ops, judging from their reaction!). Thanks for the heads up. Entry removed! --Taren 05:21, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, and there is a reason why they didn't know, either. Kage specifically asked asked us to keep quiet about the typo until the con's closing ceremonies. At closing ceremonies, he then asked everyone to look on the back of their badges and pointed out the typo. Judging by the reactions from the audience at the time, not too many other people noticed it either! --Dmuth 14:40, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, I added the blurb about the typo back into the article, modifying it slightly. --Dmuth 14:44, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
Max Goof?[edit]
Wait, you wouldn't happen to be the Max Goof that's on the Newshounds forum, would you? - Octan 5:26PM, January 21 2006
Nope! There are a few Max Goof's out there, actually! - Taren 03:49, 22 January 2006 (UTC) 5:26PM, January 21 2006
