Is the kirru pouch eqiupped with mammary glands to feed the young kirru inside it? Or is this just a pocket to carry it (and other things) around? And if the first case, do both genders provide milk? --131.220.8.9 17:04, 18 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Four mammary glands are located inside the pouch, but only lactating in the female for a period of about 60 days after birth. After about 40 days, the young start eating fruit in addition to the milk, until their teeth are developed enough to eat harder food as well. They learn to climb pretty quickly, but as they aren't as fast as adults, they are often carried on longer journeys, until they become too heavy for their parents pouches. --Unci 17:19, 18 Nov 2005 (UTC)
