I don't know, but this (along with the article about their mascot Mr._Blumi) looks more like an advertisement for the hotel to me. At best this seems to be off-topic. The furry fandom may have a lot of plushie fans, but whatever promotion the hotel runs here appears to be more aimed at children and families. --o'wolf 16:41, 15 May 2012 (EDT)

I, too, am a little unsure of the suitability of the two articles. Although the article describes it as "a furry convention", it looks more like a plush-toy convention. Which may be of interest to furries, but still isn't a furry convention in the usual sense. And the mascot, Mr. Blumi... I can't really decide if he's anthropomorphic (and therefore "furry") or not.--Higgs Raccoon 16:48, 15 May 2012 (EDT)
I agree with you on the convention topic, so I changed it to plush toy convention (as in the description box), which might be more accurate than the broader term furry. Concerning the background of the convention: The Mr. Blumi mascot indeed started as a mere hotel giveaway to guests, yet the mascot has become part of and has spawned a plush fan community and culture (including photo exchanges, fan networks, a game, toy fashion, toy relationships, video clips,... so everything that makes up fandom) in its own right, which has gone far beyond the bear's origins.
And this development has in turn led to the idea of organizing a small convention for fans, plush toy collectors and plushophiles from the community (which is located all over Europe, Japan, Australia and the Americas). So I think the article is right here. The con is definitely not just aimed at families, children and "some lady sending their quaint, victorian era, dollied Polar bear" (though welcome i guess) as Spirou claims here. With some 2000 invitees the crowd is quite eclectic in my regard. I suggest you have a look at their FB Guestlist and decide for yourself and on behalf of the community whether this con is furry enough or not to be part of this wiki. best --Sportdirektor 08:48, 21 May 2012 (EDT)
I'm getting no furry results on the Hotel or its mascot for notability. At present time, it has not propagated as an item of furry lore or interest enough to warrant an article on Wikifur at present time. This can be changed if it starts to be frequented by a larger Plushophile membership (the Hotel convention), and is talked about it in furry forums or other sites (about the the Doll/character). - Spirou 19:00, 21 May 2012 (EDT)
