Scalies don't have a sexual component?[edit]

I don't think this sentence is accurate:

"Unlike scalies, herpetophiles have a definite sexual attraction to their characters, and usually depict them in adult themes and situations"

A lot of "scalies" are herpetophiles and define sexual attraction to their scaly characters. But this sentence reads like scalies don't have a sexual component at all, and are therefore contrary to herpetophiles.
