I'm really sorry if I'm not doing this right since this is my first time making a wiki article. Can someone explain to me or point me to a link which explains how to site sources for something like this? Like, what source should I reference for chat room culture and their habits? Thanks for being patient with me in advance! ^.^ —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Valery Vixen (talkcontribs) 03:03, 31 July 2007 (UTC).

Well, for starters, here's a link on citing sources: http://www.bedfordstmartins.com/online/cite5.html - Step 7 is how to cite Real-time communication. Also, where is the image from and what were the conditions of its use? --Rat 06:06, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Some investigationI did on IRC[edit]

Here's some investigation I did on the #foxie on Sept 1. Other people's words are their own, and are here under fair use only.

<RainRat> Hi, I'm doing research on "Fox Treats" for wikifur. Apparently the
term is used here?
<ReynardTodFox> occasionally yes
<wwolfy> lol
<wwolfy> valery vixen
<kalo> friggin wikis
<ReynardTodFox> we don't really know what they are though, we just eat em
<wwolfy> yes it is used
<wwolfy> people get offered cookies or fox treats when people want to be nice
<wwolfy> qbout 2/3 cookies 1/3 fox treats i might guess
<wwolfy> so its afairly common term here anyway
<RainRat> There is a picture on the article right now too. Anyone know the
origin of it?
<wwolfy> RainRat i think the femalefox who kept being offered them most
eventually drew them forteh people whoffered them to her

A reply[edit]

~If I'm doing this wrong I really really apologize...I just discovered the talk page. Umm, yesh, I made the fox treats graphic, the fox comming from some stock photo. Yesh, since it became such a used term I thought it would be cute to draw them and make the wiki post for people to see and enjoy. Oh, and though some have run with the idea, Cherryfox is the origional creator of the concept. ~ -Valery_Vixen-

It's furry-related and there's no requirement for notability, so keep. --Rat 08:25, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
It might be a good idea to merge this and the associated image with the article about the #Foxie IRC channel, instead of outright deleting it, if it's considered an important part of the channel's history. I don't think it needs to be a standalone article, but it doesn't seem right to delete it outright either. Natasha Softpaw 08:31, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
