Convention name[edit]

The official name of this con was not Oklacon 2003, but was instead Festival of the Feral. Oklacon 2003 and Festival of the Feral should be merged, with Oklacon 2003 redirecting to Festival of the Feral. Baral'heia 07:29, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Just merged it from Oklacon 2003 and updated the links in related articles. --Frizzy 14:59, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Originally we were going to call it Oklacon, but during our research, we found that another convention in Oklahoma was already using that name. Festival of the Feral was instead chosen as the name.

Guests of Honor?[edit]

Is there someone we can contact here regarding who the Guests of Honor were? If there was none, then leave it as none, not unknown--Kendricks Redtail 05:35, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Yes, the guest of honor was Bucky Boy. There was another guest of honor too but I can't remember for the life of me who it was.

Name Change in 2003[edit]

I was on staff at Feral! when the situation occurred. The cease and desist letter, as I understood it (I was workshop coordinator at the time), had nothing to do with diluting Feral's name in the fandom (although I have heard it said some people assumed that was the fact in rumours afterwards) but due to the rules of running a Not-For-Profit in Ontario, Canada. If it is found that similar organizations are running under the same name there is the possibility that Camp Feral! could lose it's not-for-profit status, which as I understand it was the message in the letter sent to Oklacon.

I did not write the letter, but I know that is the law in Ontario, and was the message I understood was sent. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Potoroo (talkcontribs) .

Thanks for the information. You're welcome to edit the article yourself to make the clarification. --mwalimu 19:38, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
