Dixie cups[edit]

The article currently refers to 'guests running about in dixie cups'. Uh... what does THAT mean? The mind, she boggles. Clarification or correction necessary. --Tom Howling 22:19, 26 Aug 2005 (UTC)

I've linked to that message in two places in the main article. More clarification welcome from those who were there -- HOW exactly were the Dixie cups worn? I assume it was covering the penis, but daren't assume. Thanks. --Tom Howling 20:08, 29 Aug 2005 (UTC)
When I wrote that little tidbit about the dixie cup in the highlights of CF8, I did so in a humorous manner and wasn't meant to be taken seriously, thus the changing of wording and adding a link to the article is.. well.. overkill. Best to just remove the thing rather than embellish it, as it was not actually in the programming track of the con. --Crassus 20:06, 30 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Break it up[edit]

I'm thinking about breaking the long section in the middle of this article with summaries of the individual conventions into their own separate articles. This would be hugely practical, seeing as other articles are going to frequently talk about events that happened at a particular convention. As it is, this is one of the longest articles in the wiki anyway. --Sebkha(talk) 2005-08-31T14:02

POV concerns[edit]

First, I removed the following section out of the "Controvery" section:

People failed to realize that such events were either made instant legend and tall tales for the ages by attention-loving gossipers. Anyone who thinks a pet auction is outlandish never saw the movie Groundhog Day. Nonetheless, the rumor mill was afloat. Crush Yiff Destroy even hosts an article speaking of this very subject in their downright attempt of character assasination of the creators.

It's POV, and I question whether the linked-to piece on Crush Yiff Destroy qualifies as "character assasination" (sic).

I feel that the second and third paragraphs also require lots more in the way of references (and have added in the citation template accordingly), given the accusations that are being made. If I have the time later, I'll Google for some of this stuff and see what I can find. --Douglas Muth 22:01, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
