Talk:Christian Fur
Should this be "Christian furs" (all lower-case?) - see "Television programs", etc. Tevildo 16:30, 5 Oct 2005 (UTC)

"Noted" list[edit]
Any ideas on what criteria should be used for inclusion in this list? At the moment, we have admins of Christian sites and a couple of artists who regularly use Christian themes and imagery in their work; is this too wide, or too narrow? Tevildo 04:50, 21 Sep 2005 (EDT)
- I'd say that's about right. Obviously, a lot of furs are christians, but some of them make a point of it. Whether or not that's something we should encourage is debatable, but it is notable. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 03:25, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)
- It's probably as in general population: A lot of furries are technically christians as they have been baptized at some point, perhaps they go to church with their family on Easter or Christmas, but that's it. I would only include furries here if they actively speak out for their religion. Unci 17:13, 6 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Other religions?[edit]
Should we add Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Pagan etc. furs here too? (If they even have such groups .... as an agnostic I haven't followed that closely) Unci 13:24, 6 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- I'm not aware of any such organized groups. Of course, if they do exist, they should get articles if anyone wants to write them. As an atheist, I don't really care, but I'm sure others do. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 17:02, 6 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- There may be a couple groups organized under religion of choice furries but I think they're more the type to get listed as a community (i.e. under websites or lj communities or whatever). I don't often see anyone singling a fur out for being pagan; I think one of the reasons Christian Furs are notable is because in the furry fandom they are a minority AND the ones who ARE notable tend to be outspoken about being a fur and their religion. You don't often see pages saying "It really is possible to be pagan AND a furry! I'm proof!" It doesn't need to be said, and so I don't think pagans/Buddhists/etc. have organized the same way Christian furs have. Tserisa 22:41, 30 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Needs another edit?[edit]
The line that says "Some "anti-furries" also identify themselves as Christians, as well. " sounds a bit anti-Christian, and possibly flameworthy. I'm wondering if that statement can be removed because anti-furries might also identify themselves as "white supremacists", "rockstars", "Pagans", or "hackers." Anti-furries can be anyone. Basically, I just think that statement sounds a bit offensive to me, so it might be offensive to someone else. ..that is, unless it's meant to say that there are a specific group of anti-furries that call themselves Christian simply for the purrpose of pissing people off. In that case, it should be written to reflect that. -Kattywampus
JewishFurs[edit]
There is an entry for the JewishFurs mailing list already. If you want to update & improve it... Um... Feel free? 68.6.194.77
- I'm guessing you mean the article at FurryJews ??? --EarthFurst 07:05, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Artwork[edit]
Not particularly flattering, is it? I'm among the agnostics and atheists, but I think we should do better in visually representing this group. I have a particular picture in mind, which I have emailed the author of (and unforunately can't find online), so I'll update here when I hear back. Simba B 00:39, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, got permission to use the image. I will clarify the license later after asking the author what he prefers. Let me know you have a problem with this artwork. Thanks. Simba B 22:39, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
Move to Christian Furs, and/or to ... ?[edit]
My impression is that some people identify as Christian Furs, that is, as a specific identity or as a prominent interest. The Unicorn and Gryphon, Furrs Fur Christ, Christian Furry Fellowship, Rainbow Ark are evidence of something, at least! This article includes information on such an identity, on furries who are Christian, on perceptions of Christians, and ... I'd like to see the social group / identity / particular interest bit move to Christian Fur if that is indeed the right name, and the other go to something more general such as Religion. -- Sine 04:42, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- As there hasn't been discussion here over the past week, I'm going to go ahead and make these changes, or at least the beginning of them. -- Sine 07:46, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
- Since there was no coverage of any other religion added over five years, I've moved the Christian stuff back here. There is no furry religion as yet, so we don't really have much to say about it, but there is a well-developed article at furry spirituality which would be suitable for further expansion on more general (non-Christian) topics. --GreenReaper(talk) 03:07, 9 September 2014 (EDT)
