In short, Arc is cool.

I'm not an expert on style here, but wouldn't it be better to say "Arcturus is the person responsible for..." instead of "Arcturus is the dragon responsible for..." in my opinion, it reads better and is less confusing to readers.

We are a furry wikipedia, so I think its perfectly ok to refer to people by species. -Nidonocu 13:40, 17 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Is it? I agree with TheListener, just because it's a furry wiki we should still try to maintain consistency like any other serious wiki. -Andreus 19:38, 17 July 2006

Ermm... what "outright untruths" is Fur Affinity spreading? I'd like to know what exact lies myself and others of my website are being accused of in this Wiki article. --Preyfar 12:50, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

That's why there's a request for "reference" was added to it to substantiate the claim. Spirou 17:25, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Verix Section[edit]

I'm wondering if this article should have the mentioned section striped from it. Yes it does state it is supposed to be funny and not true, but WikiFur is supposed to contain facts not amusing fiction. Plus it does contain some real facts that need to be represented as truth. I'd like other peoples' opinions before I rewrite this article, however I am likey to just do it anyway since I feel it needs clean up. --Nidonocu - talk Nidonocu 05:47, 6 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I will move that section to a subpage of User:Verix, with a link, and put {{personal-article}} at the top. --GreenReaper(talk) 06:27, 6 Sep 2005 (UTC)
Thanks, rewriting the rest now. -Nidonocu - talk Nidonocu 06:44, 6 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Gender Confusion[edit]

Arcturus is actually a guy, yet he's referred to in the Wiki entry as being a female. I'm wondering if this is because of lack of information or because some/all of his characters are female. If it's the latter I feel bound to tell you that I seriously dislike the idea of someone being referred to via their fursona's gender rather than their actual one. --Andreus 15:06, 24 Aug 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps a rewording that separates the character(s) and the person behind it (as with several other pages about people) would be appropriate? --GreenReaper(talk) 14:10, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
Just wondering... could there maybe be more than one "Arcturus" in the fandom? --Douglas Muth 14:19, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
There's Arcturax the fruitbat, but I think that's about it. --GreenReaper(talk) 14:32, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
I don't know if its where the fur got the name, but there was a character named Arcturus in the sci-fi RTS Starcraft. --Chibiabos 18:16, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
Andreus is correct in his questioning the page denoting his real/legal self as female. In the state of Pennsylvania, a natural born male is male unless he undergoes an orchiectomy of both testicles then petitions the courts to legally change his sex. If he wants to provide proof of the petition, then he should be permitted to change his real life references to sex. If a person wants to have their fictitious character as female, okay I can understand. Wikifur is supposed to provide factual information, not fictitious when referencing real life. Our policy on Wikifur is to allow anyone to represent themselves as whatever gender they wish to identify themselves as, regardless of their legal status or their anatomy, so long as they are not doing so for illicit purposes. --mwalimu 05:03, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
Doesn't sound very wiki-like Insane Kangaroo 05:04, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
Hmm. Got some examples of this? I know that's how Wikipedia works, but I seem to recall writing D.C. Simpson to be gender neutral to avoid this issue. My personal feeling is that it is dishonest to represent someone as a gender that they physically do not posses; if they object to being referred to as "he" or "she" when it is technically correct, we should not provide a gender at all. --GreenReaper(talk) 05:26, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

Vandalism War![edit]

Thanks for the help. You might wanna hang out in #wikifur-edits on irc.freenode.net, I have a recent-changes bot there. Very handy! -- User:Arcturus 12:36, 7 October 2006 (BST)

No problem! It was quite exciting really. Never been in the middle of something like that. --Tori 11:43, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

An apology[edit]

Sorry about getting the information wrong, but, FYI, just be aware that there's a link on http://www.pleasedontsue.com/wtfur/ (with the words "Header art by Mellis,) that actually leads to Kemru's wepage instead,... I assumed there both and the same. My bad (and know, more Tylenol) Spirou 18:35, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
