Name origin?

Apparently "albedo" is a scientific term, specifically meaning the amount of solar heat deflected by a planet's atmosphere and biosphere. Being that this is a sci-fi comic, it seems reasonable to assume that's where the name came from, but the only way I can think of to keep it from sounding like a non sequitur would be to toss it up as a "Did you know?" paragraph. I admit other that being a science word I don't see any connection. (But then, I haven't read the comics either.)

The name "Albedo" does indeed come from the scientific name. A word play on the concept of Reflection. In his own words, "Trying to be clever and all, y'know?"
