Snug

Snug as a verb has two possible meanings, one rather intimate, the other just friendly.

• As a combination of snuggle and hug: To hug or cuddle someone closely, often involving affectionate or intimate contact with the other party. Also frequently used by furries online as a form of greeting (e.g. 'skippyfox snugs Rama tightly.')

• As an abbreviated snuggle: This may be a light hug, involving just one arm and possibly extended contact ("keeping the party snug"); or an intimate but brief close hug.

Pawsnug is occasionally used as a synonym with either definition.
