Velveteen is the sad tale of a plush toy - Buster the bunny - and his unrequited love for his owner, Max. It was created by Sly Rabbit and performed live at the Midwest FurFest 2005 Variety Show.
Sly Rabbit has a rare genetic disorder called X-linked Juvenile Retinoschisis, which causes macular degeneration and eventual blindness. Presently he has 20/70 vision with his glasses on. Presently, there is no cure, although Sly Rabbit hopes that letting people know about the disease will raise awareness and hopefully interest in finding a cure.
