Scruffy R. Wolf
Scruffy R. Wolf (real name Troy B. Whitson;[1] born June 13, 1987)[2] is a fursuiter[3] with a wolf fursona.
Controversy[edit]
On Monday February 9, 2009, Troy Whitson was charged by the Lewis County Prosecutor's Office, accused of having sex with two malamute dogs.[4] The charges were two counts of first-degree animal cruelty.
According to the charging papers, the Lewis County case came from claims made by a couple whom Whitson had met at a furry convention in Bellingham, Washington. The couple, identified in the papers without their full names or hometown, were interviewed by a Lewis County Sheriff's Office deputy in December. The charging papers alleged that in October, 2008, the woman spent the night with Whitson in Cinebar, Washington, but called her husband and asked him to come over because she was uncomfortable. Both said they saw Whitson engage in sex with the female malamute, "Ruby", and the younger male malamute, "Torque". Sheriff's Deputy Alan Stull said Whitson was interviewed, and the charging papers alleged that Whitson admitted that the male dog "mounted him after he removed his pants and underwear".[4]
Whitson denied the charges.[4] He stated "I've never even been to Bellingham", and explained that the young couple were in a dispute and the male half was angry because the female half developed a relationship with him. He added, "She's crazy. There's been nothing but drama since I met her".
On February 20, Whitson appeared in court for his preliminary hearing, and did not enter a plea.[5] After rescheduled hearing dates,[6] on June 1, Whitson made an Alford plea[7] and was sentenced to thirty days in jail.[8][9] He was restricted from owning animals for two years, and his malamutes were placed with new owners.
By December, 2012, Scruffy was again in possession of a dog, and attended the "When Furballs Strike" bowling meetup in Kenmore, Washington.[10]
