Rotten Furs is a group of furries who came together in late 2004 who enjoy various fetishes and paraphilias which are normally socially unacceptable. The original term was coined by RottenRaccoon, himself a member of this group. Their motto is "Furverts with a conscience."

The Rotten Furs website states that "we simply are what we are". While their activities are sometimes viewed as controversial and may (in their own words) "make the whole fandom look bad," they say it is not their intention to bring the fandom into disrepute - just to express their interests honestly amongst themselves.
