Slate (real name: P. Damian Cugley), a bipedal cat of Oxford, United Kingdom, produced a few editions of the fanzine Furry Furry in the 1990s. Together with Jeremy Dennis he runs Alleged Literature - formerly a publishing house, its focus shifted towards online projects in recent years.

In the years 1990 to 1994 he designed the Malvern typefaces for TeX. They were later converted to TrueType and Type 1 by unci and one of the inspirations for the eurofurence typeface family.

He also wrote some MUF programms, such as pdc-morph.muf, a popular morphing program.
