An octoped is any type of furry character with four pairs of limbs: arms, legs, and/or skeletal wings in any combination. Tails are not counted as limbs, even if prehensile, and non-skeletal wings are not counted. Any of the following would be considered an octoped:
- A hextaur
- A winged taur
- A non-taur pede character with four pairs of legs
- A spider or other arachnid character.
A well-known example is Grubby the octopede, Teddy Ruxpin's caterpillar-like best friend. Grubby walks on all four pairs of his legs but has hands on at least the front pair, which he is able to use while standing on the rest.
