Micro Fur Con, or MFC, was a mini-convention which took place in Massachusetts, USA. The location of the con varied year-by-year around the Massachusetts area. It was created by Jonus Abercrombie and Shane Deepwood.[1] The con logo was designed by all staff members.[2]

History[edit]

Micro Fur Con 1[edit]

The first Micro Fur Con took place on March 5, 2016.[3] MFC hit its cap of 25 attendees,[4] and raised $422 and dropped off a huge bag of pet supplies to Baypath Humane Society. [5] A convention video was uploaded to Jonus' YouTube channel on March 9, 2016.

Micro Fur Con 2[edit]

Micro Fur Con #2 took place on June 11, 2016.[6] There were 45 attendees who helped raise over $1000 for Baypath Humane Society. [7]

Micro Fur Con 3[edit]

Micro Fur Con #3 took place on August 13, 2016.[8] There were 38 attendees who helped raise over $600 and a trunk full of items for Baypath Humane Society. [9] A convention video was uploaded to Shane's YouTube channel on August 25, 2016.

Micro Fur Con 4[edit]

Micro Fur Con #4 was originally planned for November 19, 2016,[10] but was postponed due to "many events and the holidays".[11] An attempt was then made to reschedule the event for February 18, 2017,[12] with a prom/Valentines day theme.[13]

The fourth event was finally held on April 1, 2017,[14] with a "prom/mad hatter" theme.[15]

150 people attended,[16] and $2,200[16] was raised for the Baypath Humane Society.

The staff of MFC 4 were:[17]

  • Shane Deepwood: Director
  • Jonus Abercombie: Head of photography and dsideo / Shane’s right hand man
  • Karma Coon: Official MC
  • DJ Code: DJ/AV
  • Jynx: Marketing support north
  • Walolas: Marketing support central
  • Pineapple: Marketing support west
  • Drahck: AV
  • Sirus: AV

Micro Fur Con 5[edit]

The fifth event was held on September 23, 2017.[citation needed]

Future Micro Fur Con[edit]

Discussions have been made for a future MFC event, but as of July 2022, nothing has been publicly announced or stated regarding the future of these events. The convention is currently considered defunct.
