McGruff

McGruff the Crime Dog is the mascot of the National Crime Prevention Council created by Dancer Fitzgerald Sample to increase crime awareness and personal safety. He was introduced in 1980 with the slogan "Take A Bite Out Of Crime". An anthropomorphic bloodhound in a trench-coat, he is sometimes accompanied by his nephew Scruff.
A 32-foot inflatable McGruff is available for crime prevention events.
