Dirdwolf (full Kai The Dirdwolf), also known as Kai, Keturah, MordecaiRigby and DesuModnoc (born August 29), is a fursuiter, furry musician, graphic design artist and entrepreneur who lives in Michigan, USA.

Biography[edit]

Dirdwolf was born on August 29 in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he lived for 21 years. He attended College of Southern Nevada in 2011 obtaining an Associate Degree in Psychology and later completing a Bachelor of Arts program in Psychology from University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2014. During this time, Dirdwolf worked closely with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, and the LGBT Community Center in Las Vegas.

Upon completion of the Bachelor program, Dirdwolf moved to Reno, Nevada where he operated several small businesses related to behavioral healthcare, property management, and electronic cigarette sales.

In 2015, Dirdwolf moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. During this time, he attended furry conventions around the world and married his current partner Garnetto at Eurofurence 2016.

In 2022, Dirdwolf moved with his partner to Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Dirdwolf is currently a co-owner of CherryBox Media, LLC with his partner Garnetto. They often sell furry-themed merchandise at various conventions and events.

Fandom involvement[edit]

Dirdwolf had little fandom involvement until early 2007, joining the AGNPH forum and gallery on January 1st, 2007 under the username Desu and later Fur Affinity on May 6, 2008 under the name DesuModnoc. Dirdwolf is a former gallery and forum administrator on AGNPH.

In 2015, Dirdwolf began volunteering at BLFC in the Audio/Visual department, and has since remained a volunteer for the convention every subsequent year.

In April 2024, Dirdwolf was elected as the 12th and final board member of Southern Nevada Anthropomorphic Events, the non-profit organization which oversees Las Vegas Fur Con.[1]

Fursona[edit]

Dirdwolf's fursona is a teal wolf-dragon-avian hybrid with two rings of black fur around the forearm and two rings of black fur around the tail. He has feathers on the back of his head and spikes that run down his spine and tail. He weighs roughly 1000lbs (450kg) and is 12 feet (3.70 meters) tall. Kai's design was based on the character Mordecai from the Cartoon Network TV series Regular Show and is one of two known characters belonging to the fictional species dirdwolf.

Although originally named after Keturah, the wife of Abraham from the Hebrew Bible, the name was changed to Kai in favor of the meaning "of the ocean" in the Hawaiian Language.

Kai usually wears no clothing while in character art or fursuit.

Fursuit[edit]

Dirdwolf's current fursuit was constructed by MadeFurYou with a first public appearance at Furrydelphia 2022.

Dirdwolf's now retired fursuit was constructed by Temperance with a first public appearance at RainFurrest 2013 and last public appearance at Eurofurence 2016.

Kai was also seen at Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas in 2014.
