Hy00man (plural Hy00men),[1][2][3] also known as Hooman,[4][5] Hyoomin,[6] Hyoomun,[7] Hyuman,[8] Hyuuman,[9] HEW-man, and Hewmyn, is a double meaning English (US) based word, both friendly and derogatory, used by both furries and anti-furries to describe a Human being, real or fictional.
Meanings and colloquial usage[edit]
Among furries, the term can be used to:
- Describe a person as being as such: "Tom is a Scalie, Jenny is a Were, and Richard is a Hy00man."
- Describe a friendly mundane: "This is my Hy00man friend Jack, an artist." "I brought my Hy00man brother to the Furmeet."
- Demean a mundane: "those uncaring Hy00men and their duck/wolf/deer hunts."
- Insult a mundane: "Fucking Hy00man!, this a Furries-only party!."
Among critics, the term can be used to:
- Describe themselves: "Oh, my. Furries are talking about us poor Hy00men in AFF."
- Describe a "traitor": "why the @#$&* is that Hy00man drawing furry art?."
- Describe the presence of a mundane character in a furry drawing: "There's a Hy00man in that furry comic!."
- Demean a furry artist: "Ah!, she can't draw Hy00man to save her life!."
