Howloween 2007 was officially cancelled on September 8th, 2007.[1] The event was unable to re-book the former hotel due to behavioral problems of some attendees at the 2006 event. The problems were believed to have been caused mostly by non-local attendees. The larger non-local presence is presumed to have been the result of the absence of another winter furcon in the region (Conifur Northwest 2006).
In lieu of a main event, the organizers of Howloween encouraged locals to put together other Halloween parties that year. About sixty Furries attended one such party at Aphinity’s house. Aphinity would subsequently go on to organize Howloween 2008 and multiple succeeding Howloweens thereafter.
