You can do an awful lot on WikiFur without even logging in - so why should you?
Well, here's a few reasons:
- You gain the ability to:
- upload images and sound files
- add pages to your personal watchlist and easily check them for updates (with optional email notification)
- mark edits as "minor"
- set various editing and viewing preferences
- You get your own user page where people can contact you (optionally by email) and where you can talk about your contributions and interests
- People are more likely to respect your edits and opinions, especially where there are disagreements. It is easier to build up a reputation as a named user.
- You can keep your IP address secret from other users (note: this won't help you avoid bans)
- Only named users can become colleagues or gain other abilities
- You'll get a translation link in the toolbox for each page (from English to other languages)
