Harvest Moon Howl Fest (HMHF), formerly known as Harvest Moon Furfest, was a proposed furry convention scheduled for October 20-24, 2022[1] in Maryland, USA.

Name[edit]

Originally named the Harvest Moon FurFest, it was forced to be changed by Midwest Furry Fandom, Inc. due to its similarity to Midwest Furfest's trademarked name.

Controversy[edit]

Planning for the con was plagued by issues:

  • Executive staffer Nasfk was removed for alleged sexual predator behavior,[2] which he mocked. [3]
  • Executive staffer Pibble ran a fraudulent GoFundMe for medical funds that were allegedly spent on a fursuit,[citation needed] followed by lying about suicide and identity faking to get out of refunding, and a posted account of cocaine addiction with a refusal to refund nearly $6000.[4][5] It is unknown what happened with funds raised for charity using HMHF for promotion.[6]
  • Users pointed out the high prices of t-shirts sales to raise funds for the event,[7] and shirts were to be sold with the improper old name.[citation needed]
  • A shirt vendor[who?] was accused of serial scamming,[8] making off with $5000 in HMHF funds. He was reported to the Ohio Attorney General for charity fraud by HMHF executive staff.[9]

2023[edit]

The first event was to be held October 20-22, 2023 at Camp Ramblewood in Darlington, Maryland. The event was canceled.[citation needed]
