Greg Bear
- This article is about the furry artist and cartoonist, Greg Bear. For the non-furry science fiction writer and illustrator, see Greg Bear.
Greg Bear (née Greg Joseph Spagnola. Born in Los Angeles, USA; died September 2017 in Suffolk, Virginia),[1] was a furry artist, a former member of Rowrbrazzle and a MilFur, serving with the US Navy. Greg lived in the Norfolk neighborhood of Ghent; later in Newport News and finally Suffolk.
Art[edit]
While with the US Navy, Greg had a regular single-panel cartoon named Squiddly Diddley, which ran in some service papers. In Norfolk, he became a collector of vintage funny animal comic books and studied the art styles. In the mid-late seventies, he collaborated with American commercial artist and fan Joe Treacy to produce the slick underground-like fanzine Beastiality.[2]
He also contributed to Radio Comix's Genus.
Death[edit]
Greg Bear died of an apparent heart attack.[3] He was given a veteran's military burial.
