FursonaCon
FursonaCon is a furry convention usually held in Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA.
They started as an idea presented to them in 2014 by the company ESSI. ESSI runs the local anime convention, Nekocon in Hampton, Virginia, and wanted to reach out to the local furry community to start up their own convention. They, of course, accepted. </ref>
2020[edit]
FursonaCon 2020 "Cyberspace Online" would have taken place on August 29-30, 2020 as an online furry convention due to the in-person venue being cancelled from the COVID-19 pandemic. Fursonacon 2020 has now been postponed to the date September 9-12th, 2021.[1]
2019[edit]
FursonaCon 2019 "80’s Retro Futurism" took place September 5-8, 2019, again at the Holiday Inn Virginia Beach Norfolk.[2]
There were 489 attendees, 155 fursuiters in the parade, and $6000 was raised for the convention's charity, Second Chance Wildlife.
2018[edit]
FursonaCon 2018 took place September 6-9.[3] The theme was Ancient Rome.[4] There were 424 attendees, including 116 fursuiters, and $4177 was raised for convention charity Second Chance Wildlife.[5]
2017[edit]
FursonaCon 2017 took place over October 12-15, 2017, at the Holiday Inn Virginia Beach/Norfolk.[6] The Guests of Honor were: Princess Rei, Casey, Patto, and Matthew Ebel. The Special Guest was ConLG. [7]. Fursonacon's charity was Second Chance Wildlife. [8] Total amount raised for charity was $3,750 and the amount of fursuiters in the parade was 79.[9] The total number of attendees was 297. [10]
2016[edit]
Fursonacon had a soft opening alongside a SciFi convention known as RofCon. They don't really count this year as an official convention. </ref>
FursonaCon's first-year charity was Second Chance Wildlife.[11]
