BlindWolf8 (real name: Dan Fischbach, born 1986) is a legally-blind furry raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, United States. He is a video game developer. In chat and other messages his name is sometimes shortened to just BW. He has also been known to answer to Blind or Blindy.

Birth and blindness[edit]

BlindWolf8 was born three and a half months premature and only weighed a pound and a half. Due to his premature birth his eyesight was waning in both of his eyes. Doctors did surgery on his right eye (which was experimental at the time) to give him limited sight in said eye. The experimental surgery in question was cryotherapy, a now defunct treatment for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) and the eye chosen for treatment was random. The treatment itself is known under the abbreviation CRYO-ROP. His left remains completely blind and it also suffers from a cataract. Both of his eyes suffer from nystagmus.

Paper specifics[edit]

The paper is 10 pages, double spaced along with 1 page of citations. The paper is written in MLA format.

The paper was originally titled "Animals in Society" and was written for his Humanities (HUM) 211, Section 104 class: The Pre-Modern World in his Spring 2006 semester (end of Sphomor year) at NJIT.

Due to the content and nature of said college course, the paper is more heavily weighed to comparing the were and furry fandoms or communities to Native American culture, mythology, and beliefs than a straight focus on the communities themselves.

BlindWolf8 graduated (Cum Laude) from NJIT in the Spring of 2008 and has a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology with a concentration in Multimedia. He then attended Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy (FIEA) where he a obtained a Masters in Interactive Entertainment. He was in FIEA's Cohort 5 (class of 2008-2009) Production track.
