Free Furry Comic Day (January 5th, 2007) is an event headed by Purrsia Press open to all furry, anthropomorphic, and funny animal comics creators. It is intended to be a non-profit anthology of short furry comic stories made available free through various comic book stores and online dealers. Supplies were limited, and there was no chance to pre-order.

The stated basis for Free Furry Comic Day is to open people to the world of furry fandom, and to give furry artists an opportunity to have their work shown. Wikipedia calls the similarly-named Free Comic Book Day an annual promotional effort by the North American comic book industry to help bring new readers into independent comic book stores.

Controversy[edit]

Free Furry Comic Day has been aggressively marketed online, including repeated attempts to add it to furry-related Wikipedia articles by an IP address from Georgia, the state occupied by Purrsia Press.[1] Additionally, advertisements for Free Furry Comic Day have shown up on the message boards for many furry conventions.
