Frank Kelly Freas (27 August 1922 – 2 January 2005), called the "Dean of Science Fiction Artists", was a prolific and popular science fiction and fantasy artist. With a career spanning more than fifty years, he was the second artist inducted by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame, posthumously in 2006.[citation needed]
