I couldn't help but wonder if WikiFur has a policy on removing Admins who are unfit for duty...

Specifically, I'm referring to Spirou's claim that I'm creating "hoax pages" about "non-existent" furry groups. Considering your admonitions about assuming Good Faith, I'm curious whether he has any evidence to support any of that claim? It'd be a shame if he were making wild accusations at other editors, because some might consider that behavior unbecoming of a WikiFur Admin. That's a big no no, isn't it?

Also wondering if he might be abusing his Admin powers to enforce a version of the article more in line with his own opinions by locking it down and demanding consensus, but also locking down his talk page so it's impossible to get his input and assistance. His behavior doesn't seem particularly helpful to the editing process. I think most folks would agree his actions aren't particularly helpful to those of us who actually want WikiFur to be an encyclopedia of furry fandom.

I have a few suggestions to correct this, but thus far they seem to be ignored...

  • If Spirou insists we edit articles, he shouldn’t neglect his duties as an Admin by refusing to review them.
  • If Spirou is going to be part of the review process, he should unlock his Talk Page so editors are able to leave him messages as to the status of the article, rather than his previous standoffish and stonewalling behavior which is unfit for a WikiFur Admin
  • If Spirou is unable to set aside his personal feelings and conduct himself as a neutral arbiter to resolve this dispute, he should either delegate this task to someone who can, or be removed as an Admin.

One last thing... I couldn't help noticing Spirou's latest donation to WikiFur mentioned in Recent Changes. I'd hate to think donating money to WikiFur affords Spirou some special privilege where he gets to enforce the rules, but isn't bound by them himself. —Xydexx 18:45, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

But seriously, what is WikiFur's official stance on admins who protect trolls who are vandalizing the wiki? —Xydexx 15:25, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
In three words, "Fuck Off Troll". The long version is that admins a janitors, they are here to keep things running smoothly from a technical and policy perspective and ensure everything abides with those policies. Content disputes are very tricky and admins on any wiki don't always like to get involved, in most cases they don’t have the required knowledge about the topic to make a fully informed decision so they leave it to the editing community (us) to figure it out. At the end of the day something will stick. I don't think it is good practice for an admin to have his talk page protected, as their is an expectation that users should be able to contact you directly about issues. With that being said coming here with claims of being "unfit for duty" and requesting information about desysoping is not thinking in a forward manner, rather than trying to address the issue you just want heads because you're not getting your own way, so again, Fuck off. Personally I would have thought slapping Wolfkid23 and Xydexx with a 3 day block for edit warring would have been better than sysop protecting it as they are the only two engaging in an edit war. Xydexx, just because you don’t agree with an edit, doesn’t make it vandalism, I strongly suggest you disengage from that article as continuously tagging it (or its sections) as inappropriate when an admin has said otherwise or arbitral removing sections you don’t like is disruptive. I dont see any evidence that suggests Spirou has done anything that suggests he is breaking rules or not being neutral, maybe im not seeing something (links or diffs?) You're clearly not informed enough about the issue to comment about it, but the short version is that adding hoaxes and misinformation to WikiFur is vandalism, and Spirou did everything in his power to ensure it stayed for as long as possible rather than deal with it appropriately. —Xydexx 01:16, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
If you are seriously trying to peddle something thats over 12 months old than you need to get a life, really. Leon Hunter 06:53, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for your comments. I'll be sure to give them the attention they deserve. —Xydexx 23:45, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
Im sure you will, much like the admins are giving you and your thread the 'attention' it deserves (IE: none) Leon Hunter 01:03, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

Wikifur Has No Policy To Remove Abusive Admins[edit]

Apparently WikiFur does not have an official stance on admins who protect trolls who are vandalizing the wiki. This makes sense, though, as some Admins are trolls themselves. Conflict of interest, anyone?

Sounds like some serious quality control issues going on at WikiFur. But we knew that.
