Forum:Heya, im a newbie too!
Heya, my name's Mike and im new to to wikifur. I've loved furry cartoons and games since i was around 6 but never really new there was a community of it until my buddy mentioned furries in World Of Warcraft a few days ago.. i've been reading about it a lot and seems like fun so i thought I'd say hello. ^_^
- Welcome to WikiFur, and glad to hear about your discovery of furry fandom. You'll find that there are quite a few of us about and you're in good company. The discussions you'll find here on WikiFur are primarily geared toward WikiFur itself and the improvement of the articles thereon. If you're looking for a more general community website to interact with furry fans, you might want to take a look at the list of furry LiveJournal communities, list of furry discussion forums, some of the websites covered here, including such places as Fur Affinity and VCL. And if you still like what you find, once you've had some time to get around a bit and meet some other fans online or in person, you might want to consider attending a furry convention. Once again, welcome and I hope you have as much fun as the rest of us do. --mwalimu 05:14, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
I've been to VCL and they have some nice work up like that bubble tree. lol. i dont have a live journal though, should i consider getting one? i bet my brother could help >.>
- Heh. Furries found LiveJournal early on, and some of the early adopters were well-known or well-liked enough to attract friends and followers who wanted to easily read their journals, which attracted those peoples' friends and followers, and so on. However, plenty of us also use MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and other kinds of social networking sites. It's just that LJ offers communities (basically group discussion boards), rather than fan sites, which has led to the creation of so many communities on LJ. In any case, get an account where you like, and you'll probably find furries who are already there. -- Siege(talk) 05:06, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
