We could really do with a category for people who don't consider themselves furry, and I think it might make inclusion in WikiFur more palatable to some people. My initial thought was Category:Nonfurs, but the Nonfur article needs significant work. Thoughts on this category idea? -- Sine 20:48, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- I don't like the idea of negative categories. Categories should be more about what things are than what they aren't. --Rat 02:34, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
- I'm giving this thread a little nudge because I think this category could be very useful. For instance there are several artists that, while they do draw anthro artwork, do not consider themselves furries. Do we classify otherkin as furries? From my limited point of view it just seems like it would be good to have around, is all. --Banrai | talk (06/07/07) 20.22 (UTC)
- Classification of people is always tricky. We do have Category:Therians but I suspect it is not complete. If not being a member of the fandom is an important fact, then it should not be relegated to a category, but should be noted specifically in the article. It's harder to miss something like "while X is not a furry, they do make art which is appreciated by the furry fandom". --GreenReaper(talk) 21:28, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- No one suggested having that information only in the category, and--as is stated in the Book of Style--categories and article content should always reflect each other; information in categories should always be indicated in the article text, and information in the article reflected in appropriate categories. -- Sine 21:38, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
