EverQuest and its sequel, EverQuest II, are massively multiplayer online role-playing games created by Sony Online Entertainment and it's now defunct subsidiary 989 Studios, as well as the short lived independent company Verant Interactive.
EverQuest II takes place 500 years after the original.
EverQuest and furry[edit]
In addition to the typical fantasy races, EverQuest and EverQuest II have included anthropomorphic animals as playable races:-
Race | Species | Introduced/Playable |
---|---|---|
Froglok | frog | EverQuest as NPCs; playable as of EverQuest: The Legacy of Ykesha. |
Iksar | lizardmen | EverQuest: The Ruins of Kunark. |
Kerra | feline | EverQuest as NPCs; playable in EverQuest II. |
Ratonga | rat | EverQuest II |
Sarnak | draconid | EverQuest: The Ruins of Kunark as NPCs; playable as of EverQuest II: Rise of Kunark. |
Vah Shir | feline | EverQuest: The Shadows of Luclin; they are descended from the old Kerran nobility and rejoined their kin in EverQuest II. |
Some classes are also capable of summoning animal companions or turning into animals themselves. In EverQuest, Druids could become wolves, Shamans could become bears and summon a spirit wolf companion, while Beastlords had an animal companion. Warriors could also acquire an extremely rare item that allowed them to summon the shaman pet.
