DenFur (briefly Mile High Fur Con) is a furry convention which takes place annually in August in Denver, Colorado, USA and is organized by AEIOU, a 501(c)3. It was created to replace the defunct Rocky Mountain Fur Con.
The first DenFur was held August 24-26, 2018, at the Crowne Plaza Denver Airport Convention Center[1], and saw 2,086 attendees[2], along with $15,000 raised for charity[3]. The theme was "Rebuild" and the guests of honor were Kenket[4], Mischief Makers[5], Strobes[6], Majira Strawberry[7], 22mg[8], and Sunny Dingo[9]. DenFur's first year attendance broke the previous first year convention attendance record.[10]
The second DenFur was held August 2-4, 2019 with the theme "Space Exploration."[11] There were 2736 attendees, 334 fursuiters, with $15,000 raised for charity[12]. This convention was featured in some scenes of the film: The Fandom (documentary).
DenFur 2020 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
DenFur returned in 2021 from August 20-22 with a theme based on Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail. There were 2,566 attendees.[13]The convention moved to its current home at the Sheraton Downtown Denver, formerly the Adam's Mark Hotel, the host of the first Rocky Mountain Fur Con in 2007.
For 2022, DenFur returned to the Sheraton August 19-21. The theme was based on Alice in Wonderland. Guests of Honor were AC Stuart, Spainimation, and Fortuna. There were 2,961 attendees, 522 fursuiters in the parade and the convention raised $21,827.65 for its charity, Horseback Miracles. [14]
