Cotton Taylor is a rabbit friend of Gene Catlow and a main character in the webcomic of the same name. Though not explicitly spelled out, his name appears to be a pun off of "cotton tail." He is sometimes impulsive, but his strong point is his semi-chaotic yet refined way of handling any sort of problem.
Origin[edit]
Cotton started out as a computer repairfur and coworker with Gene who liked to joke with the tomcat every now and then. All that began to change when Bev the bear served him Coffee², the special extra-strength Canovian blend, which awakened in him the ability known as "sight of the soul." This allowed him, and subsequently anyone he contacted, to communicate without talking and irrespective of physical distance--with the side-effect of seeing the other person unclothed.
A New Role[edit]
Over the course of the life of the Gene Catlow comic, Cotton has become a much more important character, possibly intended to become a being of near-cosmic power at some point. In the meantime, he has won the heart of his true love, Tavatiana, formerly the chancellor of Canovia. As of this writing, Cotton has been taken away to live in ancient Canovia in order to heal from a traumatic near-death experience and to spend time with Tavie and their unborn daughter.
